Since 1983, Over the years, the college has proven its merit at the university level and emerged as the center of academic excellence. It began humbly with 5 branches and intake of 180. Now it has intake of 520 for 7 disciplines and offers PG courses in Energy Management Systems, CAD/CAM and Computer Science and Engineering. The college is also granted recognition as a place for Higher Learning and Research, leading to M.E. by Research in all the 7 disciplines and Ph.D in 5 Engineering branches and 3 subjects of General Sciences.
The excellent academic results indicate the sound educational foundation and the projects like Fly Ash Utilization and Industrial Waste Characterization center, Power Generation using Bio gas show commitment to research with social orientation. Under the futuristic guidance of Shri.Shantaramji Potdukhe, the team of highly qualified faculty lead by the dynamic leadership of Principal Dr.K.R.Dixit the college is marching ahead on the avenue of success. In the Gondwana University, Gadchoroli, it is the oldest and largest technical institute.
